Texas House approves bill banning sale of animals from puppy mills

In promising news for animals, the Texas House of Representatives approved a bill that would make it illegal in the state of Texas for pet stores to sell animals from puppy mills.

Similar bans have already been enacted by more than 370 localities and three states; that includes six municipalities in Texas: Austin, San Antonio, Fort Worth, The Colony, El Paso, and Waco. This would make it state-wide.

New facility will house injured animals at Texas State Aquarium

The new state of the art facility will allow the public to get an inside look for the first time.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — For the last 20 years the Texas State Aquarium has been rehabbing animals out of a leased facility of the Port of Corpus Christi.

Texas country singer reunited with emotional support dog stolen with truck outside Hotel Emma

SAN ANTONIOUpdate (10 p.m., Tuesday, April 20): A Texas musician and his family who had their dog and truck stolen from outside Hotel Emma earlier this week have been reunited with the “center of our little family.”

Country music singer Shane Smith told KSAT Tuesday afternoon that after frantically searching for their small grey Havanese lapdog Gretchen, a family found her tethered to a tree along a trail in Leon Valley.

Remaining Kemp’s ridley Sea Turtles were released on Wednesday by Texas State Aquarium

Sea turtles came from New England back in early December 2020

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Texas State Aquarium released the remaining Kemp’s ridley sea turtles on Wednesday, April 14. These sea animals came to the Aquarium from New England back in early December 2020.

Turtles Fly Too transported 120 sea turtles, including the ones released on Wednesday, to the Aquarium. They were found on the beaches of Cape Cod, Massachusetts and suffered from hypothermia and other related health issues.
